What is a Turducken?
The breast bone is out of all three birds. Layer the
stuffing accordingly and then tie it back together so it looks like a whole
turkey. I put two ties going criss cross to hold the turducken together. I rub
it with either melted butter or canola oil and season with salt and pepper
(just a little). The seasoning from the stuffing will infuse the turducken.
How to cook Turducken:
Cook it 1 hour at 375 degrees uncovered and then cover it
and cook at 325 degrees:
Original weight of turkey:
Small 4- 4 ½
hours
Medium: 5 hours
Large 6 hours
Jumbo 7 hours
Times are approximate and using a thermometer the internal
temp of the middle of the breast part should read 160-165 deg. Before cutting,
let rest for 30 minutes.
