San Francisco Chicken Wings January 25 2013

Serves 4

5 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp light brown sugar
1 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp dry sherry

1 tsp ginger

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp granulated garlic
juice of 1 orange
1 tsp corn flour
1 cup water
3# Chicken Wings

 

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F  Mix the soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, sherry, orange juice, ginger, chili powder, and garlic in a pan. Bring to the boil.

2. Combine the corn flour and water in a small bowl and stir until blended. Add to the boiling soy sauce mixture, stirring well. Boil for another minute, stirring constantly.

4. Transfer to a bowl when cooled to room temp, coat the wings using tongs on both sides. Save remaining liquid.

5. Bake in the center of the oven for 30 minutes until the chicken wings are tender and browned, basting occasionally.
